Here you see overview photos of an exhibition at Galerie Fontana in Amsterdam. On display are two of my Doppelganger works created and presented on a light box. The doppelganger artworks are part of a series of three. In this series of works I have researched the concept of doppelganger.
A doppelganger, is a biologically unrelated look-alike, or a double, of a living person. In fiction and mythology, a doppelgänger is often portrayed as a ghostly or paranormal phenomenon and usually seen as a harbinger of bad luck. Other traditions and stories equate a doppelgänger with an evil twin. The concept of alter egos and double spirits has appeared in the folklore, myths, religious concepts, and traditions of many cultures.
